About the Journal

Al-Majaz: Journal of Multidisciplinary Islamic Studies is a high-quality open-access peer-reviewed research journal, published twice a year (March and September). The journal explores multidisciplinary Islamic scholarship with a specific emphasis on religiosity, socio-cultural dynamics, and local wisdom. It welcomes contributions from various Islamic disciplines—such as Islamic education, Qur’anic and Hadith studies, Islamic law, theology, and Islamic economics—provided they engage with one or more of these core themes.

By highlighting these dimensions, Al-Majaz aims to foster critical insights into how Islamic teachings interact with diverse cultural contexts and address contemporary issues in Muslim communities, particularly in Southeast Asia and beyond.

The journal invites scholars and experts working in all disciplines of Islamic studies. Articles should be original, research-based, unpublished, and not under review for possible publication in other journals. All submitted papers are subject to the study of the editors, editorial board, and blind reviewers. Submissions that violate our guidelines on formatting or length will be rejected without review.
